Today about Pakistani restaurant in old Dubai, to be more precise it is in Bur Dubai. Restaurant is located next to Dubai Creek, near the Dubai Old Souq Marine Transport Station - abra station. Abras are part of the public transport (photo below). About the Dubai Creek and the 'old' Dubai will write soon.
Coming back to restaurant - below you can see neon of Karachi Darbar Restaurant. It is a local chain of restaurants. There are several under this name in Dubai and the surrounding towns. It serves Indian, Pakistani and a little bit of Chinese cousine. The restaurant itself can not encourage to eat in because of the appearance, but appearances can be deceiving - the food is delicious!!! This is not just my opinion, everyone whom I took there was delighted!
This time, for the first time, we walked in to the room on the first floor, which is called 'Family de Lux' :) It has one major advantage - it has AC? You can call eating outside in mid-September, extreme sport, especially for tourists :)
Our order:
Hot and sour soup - 7 aed. Well seasoned with plenty of vegetables.
Prawn masala with KDR gravy - 20 aed
Butter Nan - 2,5 aed. I love it.
Two types of Tikka Masala (15 aed), chicken and mutton (both looks very similar so I place only one photo). Very hot, but eatable.
Chicken biryani (15 aed) served with gravy. Rice in biryani is seasoned with saffron.
I really don't know why I didn't takle a photo of my Palak Paneer - goat homemade cheese, in hot spinach gravy.
We orderes Masala Chai - like always. A cup of tea with milk and spices. It is prepared from the water, milk and spices - all you need is to boil water with milk and spices, then add the black tea leaves and boil it again - yummy!
