Moon eclipse 15 Jun 2011

Moon eclipse 15 Jun 2011

From 8 pm to 2 am the tree of us was sitting on the desert and we were observing this phenomenon :D
Amazing I must say!

Eclipse lasted for 100 minutes, so clouds didn't spoil the show. I don't know why this clouds came [clouds on the desert - it is scandal ;)]. Fortunately, they went away, before the moon started to be visible again.

I gave you several photos...

There will be about food as well

My friend ask me "why on your blog I can't find anything about food?" :) so there will be about food as well :) I will write from time to time about it.
The question was from an author of a blog about cooking, you can find it here  http://konwaliewkuchni.blogspot.com/. Blog is in polish, but pictures are great, and you can always use google tranlator to read it :)

coming back to food...
I fell in love with a thai cousine, it's so light and full od flavors :) I decided to try to cook something. I bought a book Thai cousine - Food Lovers, delicious and simple recipes for every day.

So the first recipe -

Pumpkin soup with chicken :)

2 chicken breasts
2 tbsp. soya sauce
1 small pumpkin
2 cm piece of fresh ginger
1 onion
2 tbsp. dried jelly ear fungus
500 ml vegetable broth
1 red chili
400 ml coconut milk
salt & freshly milled pepper
2-3 tomatoes
basil, to garnish

Cut the chicken into strips and marinate in soya sauce. Wash, deseed and dice the pumpkin. Peel and slice the onion. Peel and chop the ginger. Chop the jelly ear fungus and soak in a little of hot water.
Put pumpkin, oniom, ginger into a pan with the vegetable broth. Slit the chili open lenghtways and add to the pan. Cook for about 20 minutes with a lid on the pan. Than remove the chili and take half of the vegetables out of the stock.
Finely puree the rest of the vegetables with the stock. Drain the jelly ear fungus and add to the soup with the coconut milk. Bring to boil. Boil for 2-3 minutes, than return the vegetables to the soup.
Deseed the tomatoes and cut it into pieces. Add to the soup with the chicken. Briefly bring to boil, than cook gently for 7 minutes.
Season to taste and ladle into bowls. Serve garnished with basil.

If you try some day, I hope you will like it!

Fujariah and Indian Ocean

Fujariah, UAE

Fujariah is the only emirate, where you can not find a sandy desert and they haven't got oil. People here live like all other people on the world - they live from trade, fishing and agriculture. Of course they have free zones too.

Fujairah is located on the Indian Ocean and that is why we go there :) I've never seen this ocean so I have to soak my feet in it :) There are mountains and I love mountains! Maybe not a big one, but still mountains. Hajar Mountains are very old and you can find there a lot of greenery comparing to Dubai :)

Wadi Wurayah

In guide we found an information about waterfalls, so we went to see them!
Waterfall itself was not so impressive. I think that during winter water level is higher and the view is nicer.

Wadi Wurayah

Dos and don'ts, but to be honest more what you can not do in the reserve. Wadi Wurayah is the first reserve of inanimate nature in UAE. I like that the penalties for destroing this beautiful place are so heavy... I wish they will introduce same in Poland!
