An advantage of living in Dubai is a year-round summer. It is true that during the summer months (June - September) Dubai turns into an oven, but you can survive :) You can always just stay indoors, in air-conditioned rooms.

This year was a record-breaking hot summer, I somehow did not notice, but I think that it is because humidity was lower than last year. You could easily go for a walk and did not die.
I must admit that it was very hot and I rather hide in the shadows.

Unfortunately humidity is increasing now ... in the evening there is a sauna outside, you can almost collect bucket of water from the air :D Yesterday evening, about 9 pm, we went for a walk and quickly came back. We limited our stay outside to a minimum. To be honest it was very uncomfortable.

There is another think why humidity drive me crazy - water condensation on the windows. During the day, sand is deposited sand on the windows, and at night the water condensation creates "riverbeds" in the sand.

Yesterday evening, before sunset, I went to the pool and it was very nice.

Architecture

Architecture

I will write something about architecture as well, because you can firnd here really interesting  buildings. It won't be very professional and the reason is simple - I don't know a lot about it, but I like it.
One of my favourite building here is a "Cheese Tower". This special building with the name "0-14" is a mixed use tower in the business bay of Dubai. The height of the tower is 102m with 22 floors. The building it self is held up by the core and exoskeleton. The floor space is column free. The space between between facade and windows is like a chimney - it allows the hot air rise and cool air to come in from below. The architect is Reiser&Umemoto.
